PROVIDERS

Tracey Lakin MD, FACOG

Since she was a little girl, Dr. Tracey Lakin has wanted to be a doctor. While in medical school, she chose to pursue Obstetrics and Gynecology because she was drawn to the opportunity of assisting women of all ages—from adolescents to the elderly—through the various stages of life. She believes firmly in preventative care as it prolongs life and gives women the opportunity to experience a quality of living that years ago and in many places around the world was/is unavailable. It is one of her greatest professional joys to observe the expressions on her patients’ faces when their children are born. It is an honor for her to be in the room with them on that blessed day.

Dr. Lakin graduated from Captain Shreve High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. She earned her bachelors degree from Baylor University and her Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University Medical School. She completed her residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas, where between 2001-2002 she was the Chief Resident and contributor to a senior resident research project on cervical cancer treatment.

Dr. Lakin is a member of the Tulsa County Medical Society, the Oklahoma State Medical Association, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and Alpha Omega Alpha. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also certified to perform gynecological procedures using the daVinci Robotic Surgery.

Dr. Lakin, like all other Women’s Health Group physicians, truly values the relationship she is able to develop with each of her patients. She places great importance on trust, especially when it comes to one’s health. She strives to be the kind of physician who maintains open and honest lines of communication with each of her patients, regardless the news—good or bad.

As a partner at The Women’s Health Group, Dr. Lakin is particularly skilled in the areas of high-risk pregnancy, adolescent health care, abnormal pap smears/dysplasia, and preventative health care. Tracey is married to a wonderful man, Dr. Grant Cox, who is also an OB/GYN in Tulsa. They are the proud parents of fraternal twins—Joshua and Kennedy.
